This page is dedicated to the research and outreach that we are doing at IU East in the area of observational astronomy. IU East is located in Richmond, Indiana, and our focus is in bringing the stars to life!
We are just getting started, but we plan to regularly schedule observing events, teach about optics and safe observing practices and help students and the general public to enjoy the heavens as much as we do!
Our most recent events have taken place at Middle Forks Resevoir's Radio-Controlled Airfield, which is nearly the darkest location within Richmond city limits. Research is dedicated to variable stars and observations may take place at several locations - including Middle Fork Reservoir R/C Airfield, but also dark sky locations to the north of Richmond.
